Payment Method
Housecall Pro offers a variety of payment processing options to accommodate the needs of service businesses. Customers can pay online through credit card payments processed via Stripe, which provides bank-level security and encryption. The standard credit card processing rates are 2.59% for swiped, tapped, or chipped cards, 2.99% for cards entered online by the customer, and 3.49% for manually entered card details.
For faster access to funds, Housecall Pro provides Instapay, a service that allows businesses to receive credit card payments within 30 minutes for an additional 1% fee on top of the standard rates.
Additionally, ACH payments are supported, allowing customers to pay directly from their bank accounts. The standard fee for ACH processing is 1% per transaction, and these payments typically complete within 1-2 business days.
Businesses can manage their payment options, including the ability to accept credit card payments, ACH transfers, and the option for customers to save their card on file for future transactions. These settings can be adjusted in the account settings or on a per-job basis, providing flexibility for different customer preferences and job requirements.
For vendors, payments can be submitted via bank transfer (ACH) or mailed check, with an option for the vendor to choose between the two. Housecall Pro will contact the vendor via email to confirm the preferred payment method.
These payment methods are designed to streamline the billing process, making it convenient for both the service provider and the customer.

Housecall Pro Return Policy?
Housecall Pro provides guidelines for businesses on how to handle return and refund policies. These policies are crucial for any business, whether product- or service-based, as they are binding agreements for how to proceed when unknown future events materialize.
A return/refund policy communicates what actions to expect from the widest range of possible customer experiences and scenarios. It's estimated that between 30-35% of all products ordered online will be returned. Therefore, having a clear and fair return policy can improve customer acquisition and build a reputation for excellent customer service.
For Service Plan Refunds, there are specific steps to follow. For credit card payments, go to the customer's profile and select the appropriate Service Plan. On the plan details page, scroll down to the Billing Cycle. Hover over the payment to be refunded and click the slashed $ icon. In the text box, type the amount to be refunded and click ISSUE REFUND.
For cash, check, or other forms of payment, these cannot be refunded through the Service Plan itself. If you return a payment of these types to a customer for their Service Plan, you will need to cancel their plan.
For loan refunds, click the Refund button in the section labeled Payment history, confirm the amount, and then select Refund. The refund will then be initiated and will take 3-5 days to fully process and return funds to the customer.
For credit card charge refunds, ACH refunds must be initiated within 90 days after the original payment. A refund can only be processed after the payment process has completed.
